Tip: Go natural with household products. Back in the day our choices for cleaning products at home consisted of harsh chemicals that have been both responsible for contaminating our planet as well as our bodies. I bet that you didn’t know you could get a chemical burn on your lungs from using ammonia and bleach in the same confined space, such as a bathroom. Ammonia is that glass cleaner you are using to clean your mirror and bleach is that product you’re using to scrub your tiles. Even if you knew that and steer clear of mixing the two, imagine what strong potent chemicals they must be to have such an effect. We are lucky now, we have many options for green, safe household cleaning products. Here are a few brands that I have tested and know work just as well as the harsh stuff: Laundress Surface Cleaner, Green Works Laundry Detergent, Mrs. Meyer’s products and J.R Watkins has a ton of great green products. That’s just to name a few, there are a lot out there. Let’s not forget chemicals can cause cancer, I highly recommend keeping them out of your home. This simple switch can help both our planet and our bodies.
