Tip: Caffeine before a workout will make your workout more successful as it gives you an extra boost of energy to push harder and burn more fat. Just make sure to use caffeine products designed for working out, they tend to have less sugar or zero grams of sugar and often also have other nutrients that aid in your workout as well. Protein after your workout will aid in muscle recovery and growth. Make yourself a protein shake with at least 20 grams of protein within 30 minutes of your workout as this is the optimal amount and timing to replenish your glycogen levels.
