Tip: Need to stay healthy while taking that long awaited summer vacation? There are a few things you can do to help you keep your immune system strong. Steer clear of sugar. When you eat sugar, it directly competes for space in your immune cells with Vitamin C! The more sugar in your system, the less Vitamin C can get into your white blood cells resulting in weakened defense from infections. Another thing you can do, is stay active. We often stop working out because we are on vacation and figure we deserve a break. The truth is your body gets used to those routine workouts and has a strengthened immune system as a result of those workouts. So when you all of a sudden stop being active and are in places with more or different kinds of infections, the results end with you being sick. Even a little bit will help with this. A couple other things you can do, is make sure to bring along your vitamins, continue eating balanced meals and drink lots of water to keep your system flushed.
