Tip: Laugh as much as you possibly can! Laughter actually boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, improving your resistance to disease. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Laughter also offers some of the same advantages of working out. When we laugh we stretch muscles throughout our face and body, our pulse and blood pressure go up, and we breathe faster, sending more oxygen to our tissues. Laughing also burns calories, about 10-15 minutes of laughter can burn 50 calories. Don’t ditch the workout just yet however, at that rate it would take 12 hours of consistent laughter to shed one pound of fat. So keep the workout, add the laughter, burn more calories, be healthier, stress less and lead a happier life all because you laughed.
